Ar. Madhura Otari | The Lineage of Craft
Principal, Otari Architects
For Ar. Madhura Otari, design is genetic. Born into the illustrious Otari community—historically renowned for their mastery in metal casting and idol crafting—she inherited an eye for detail long before she entered architecture school.
A B.K.P.S. Pune alumna and a celebrated Rangoli artist, Madhura views space differently. To her, a floor is a canvas and a wall is a gallery. Since establishing Otari Architects in 2016, she has delivered over 40 bespoke interiors and 30 acres of landscape projects across India. Her firm is a design atelier where the precision of architecture meets the fluidity of art, creating spaces that don't just function—they feel.
The Design Solution
The Artist’s Eye. Where Heritage Meets Habitat.
The Vision- Living Art
Madhura’s approach to interiors is deeply influenced by her background in large-scale Rangoli art. She understands that a home needs a focal point—a burst of color or texture that draws the eye. The brief for her residential projects often revolves around 'Soulful Storytelling,' moving away from sterile modernism to embrace warm, heritage-driven aesthetics.
The Wall as Canvas- Bespoke Textile Art
Being an artist herself, Madhura is passionate about Varsaca’s Hand-Embroidered Wall Art. Instead of generic prints, she commissions bespoke textile frames—intricate artwork and fabric installations—that mirror the complexity of her Rangoli designs. These pieces add a layer of soft, tactile luxury to the vertical surfaces, turning bare walls into conversation starters.
The Final Layer- The Gifting Ritual
The relationship doesn't end at the handover. Otari Architects partners with Varsaca for Project Completion Gifting. Every client receives a curated Varsaca Hamper—filled with sustainable table linens and decor accents—as a 'Housewarming' gesture. It is Madhura’s way of ensuring that her clients start their new life with sustainable, handcrafted luxury.
Visual Narrative
A curated selection of project imagery
"Coming from a family of craftsmen, I have a deep respect for anything made by hand. Varsaca is my go-to partner because they speak the language of 'Artisan Luxury.' From the custom embroidered wall art to the sustainable hampers I gift my clients, every piece has a soul. They don't just fill a room; they complete my vision."
